Work-life balance in academia

Beschreibung

"Persistent gender inequalities, together with expected shortages of talent, in science, engineering and technology (SET) have made it an imperative to attract and retain female talent in technical universities. This paper considers the relationship between work-life balance (or the lack of it) and the careers of men and women in academia. Our focus is on what universities can do regarding work-life balance preferences and policies to stem any loss of talent through what has become known as 'the leaky pipeline'."
