Professional background

Stefanie Gundert studied Sociology at the University of Wuppertal and the University of Duisburg-Essen from 1997 to 2003. From 2003 to 2006, she was a predoctoral research fellow at Max Planck Institute for Human Development (Berlin), and completed her doctorate at Freie Universität Berlin in 2006 on "Fixed-Term Contracts among Young and Older Workers”. In 2007, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Research on Inequalities and the Life Course (CIQLE) at Yale University. Between 2008 and 2009, Dr Gundert was a senior researcher at HIS, Hannover, and in the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) project. She has been a senior researcher in the research department “Labour Market and Social Security” (PASS) of the IAB since 2009. Since 2011, she has been Head of the IAB working group “Quality of Employment”.
