Material deprivation and social exclusion: The risks of unemployment go beyond just losing one’s job

Abstract

"Employment is considered an important prerequisite for participation in social life. We examine the question of how a job loss affects an individual’s risk of material deprivation and social exclusion. Moreover, we show how losing one’s job affects individual well-being.
