Two different groups of persons take part in the Graduate Programme: scholarship holders and college members. The latter receive no direct financial support and are either staff of the IAB or doctoral students of the School of Business and Economics of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The doctoral students are supervised by thesis advisors from different disciplines.
Graduates of the GradAB programme find attractive positions in universities, international organisations, the IAB and other non-university research institutions. Recent placements were at the University of Mannheim, the University of Hannover, the University of Maryland and New York University (Abu Dhabi), as well as the World Bank and the Bundesbank.
