Professional background

Per Kropp completed his degree in sociology at the University of Leipzig (Diplom) and was a doctoral candidate at the ICS (Interuniversity Center of Social Sciences Theory and Methodology) of the University of Utrecht from 1992 to 1997. In 1998 obtained his doctorate with a thesis on "Job Success in the Transformation Process: A Theoretic and Empirical Study on Winners and Losers of the Turnaround (Wende) in Eastern Germany". From 1998 to 2005 he was a researcher/assistant at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Leipzig before joining IAB (Regional Research Network) in 2005.
