Abstract

A new delineation of labour market regions based on current commuter flows should be developed for Germany. This delineation should include both a large-scale and a more detailed subdivision. The update of the 50 labour market regions delineation which has existed since 2011 and which is used in the Labour Market Monitor of the Federal Employment Agency (BA) (https://arbeitsmarktmonitor.arbeitsagentur.de/) and also forms the basis for the delimitation of 34 labour market regions for forecasts of the QuBe project (www.qube-projekt.de) was agreed with the statistics of the BA.
