Professional background
Dr Boris Ivanov studied Business Administration (B. Sc.) at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen from 2008 to 2012 and Economics (M. Sc.) at the University of Heidelberg from 2012 to 2016, where he received his doctorate in 2022.
He was initially a research assistant at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, where he is still associated as a Junior Research Associate. Since 11/2023, he has been employed as a research associate (post-doc) at the Institute for Employment Research in the research area "Migration, Integration and International Labor Market Research (INTER)".
His research interests are applied labor market research, labor market effects of structural change and technological progress, skills shortages and migration as well as the social integration of potentially disadvantaged groups.
