Research Group

Tasks

The Research Group "Occupations in the Transformation" studies the way in which the labour market is structured via occupations. Here the work of the Research Group adheres to three principles: it is related to the labour market, is empirically orientated, and takes various different theoretical perspectives into consideration. For instance, we examine the institutional character of an occupation or, using the task-based approach and considering the recent discussion on „Digitalization“, analyse how job patterns on the labour market have changed or will change. Over and above this, the Research Group participates in fundamental research contributing to the classification of occupational data, such as the 2010 Classification of Occupations, and provides occupational information relating to the structure and development of the labour market via the Internet platform "Berufe im Spiegel der Statistik" (Occupations reflected in statistics).
