Unit

Crises and their Consequences

Working Group

Tasks

The COVID-19 pandemic had far-reaching consequences for individuals, the economic development and the labour market. With the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, the next crisis followed. Restrictions on international trade and distortions of global supply chains worsened. The working group deals with the macroeconomic developments but also with the consequences of the crises on operational structures and the (work) life of individuals.

The working group pools the IAB’s research and expertise and facilitates the exchange of ideas between different departments and disciplines on the on-going and planned data work and research projects. It also has the purpose to facilitate the communication between politics, the scientific community and those practically involved in order to provide impulses for new research.

The IAB provides a wide range of research on the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and the war in Ukraine for the labour market. The website Crises and their Consequences lists all projects and publications on these topics, including the results of the surveys “Establishments in the COVID-19 Crisis” and “Life and Employment in Times of Corona”.
