Skilled Immigration Act: Successful labour market integration but remaining problems due to bureaucratic hurdles and discrimination

Abstract

"Demographic changes increase the relevance of labour migration from non-EU countries. The German government introduced in 2020 the Skilled Immigration Act to support this migration with different legal adjustments. The brief report analyses the labour market integration, the migration process and discrimination experiences of migrants who used the new regulations." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
