Communication

The labour market and the world of work are constantly evolving. Stakeholders from the social partners, from politics, from practice such as labour market policy-makers and vocational counselling practitioners, as well as the general public need reliable information and scientifically grounded recommendations for action, as does the public. The IAB provides them in a form suitable for the target groups. The IAB publishes research findings for the scientific community in specialist journals and its own publication series.

The comprehensive research findings which the IAB provides to its target groups in various media formats include analyses of the effects of labour market policy and vocational preparation measures as well as studies of long-term developments such as demographic change or digitalisation, and short-term events such as the Covid 19 pandemic, supply bottlenecks or the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine and their effects on the economy and labour market. The IAB's published analyses each contain scientifically-based recommendations for action for policy-makers and practitioners.

The IAB participates in public discourses and offers journalists answers to their questions based on empirical research. For interested parties from the public and the social partners, political stakeholders, and researchers, the institute also provides a continuously updated range of specialist information on topics from labour market research and policy.

A wide variety of communication formats are offered: from workshops and conferences to freely accessible literature and information offerings on the internet and in social media. The IAB pursues a comprehensive open access policy.
