Professional background

Marieke Volkert studied Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile from 2003 to 2009 (Diploma). From 2009 to 2012 she worked at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) in the project "Social and Ethnic Differences in Residential Choices" (Prof. Dr. Hartmut Esser) and afterwards from 2013 to 2015 as a research assistant under the direction of Dr. René Leicht at the institute for SME research (ifm). From 2015 to 2018 she worked as a research assistant at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). Since May 2018 Marieke Volkert has been a member of the Survey Unit (SE) of Statistical Methods (KEM) at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB).
