Abstract

In addition to the analysis of survey data, the quality of a survey instrument can be evaluated by recording and evaluating paradata. Paradata is information that arises during the field process in addition to the survey data, e.g. contact attempts but also the user behaviour of the respondents with a survey software. Accordingly, important conclusions can be drawn with regard to data quality, e.g. whether certain survey instruments need to be readjusted or whether the survey mode turns out to be unsuitable for a certain target population.
