Professional background
Agata Danuta Galkiewicz graduated from a Master Program in Economics at the University of Hamburg with the master thesis on the subject of “The effect of grandparents’ childcare on female labor participation. An empirical analysis with German panel data.” The studies at the Bachelor level were completed at Poznan University of Economics and Business in Poland.
She has been a member of the the team “Education, Training, and Employment Over the Life Course” of the IAB since January 2022. Since then she has been also a PhD candidate at the University of Potsdam in the Chair of Economics, in particular Economic Policy. Her in-progress PhD dissertation is on the topic of education economics and includes two comprehensive RCT experiments.
Her research interests are education economics, labor market economics and survey methodology. At the IAB she is involved in studies concerning participation of adults in continued education and training.
