The IAB acts responsibly and reliably towards its employees, other departments of the Federal Employment Agency and external partners. The public funds entrusted to the IAB are used effectively and economically.
The IAB has three key business areas: research, data production, and policy advice. The services of the internal services and the information infrastructure provide the necessary resources in the areas of personnel, finance, infrastructure, specialist information, library, events, and controlling. It ensures that budgetary, personnel and data protection regulations are implemented and that transparent reporting on the IAB's performance and results take place.
The IAB advises, supports, and develops its most precious resource: its employees. This includes modern and flexible working conditions, family policy benefits, and a variety of development and career paths. As a member of the Diversity Charter, the IAB has set itself ambitious equality policy goals and promotes openness, trust, and appreciation – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, world view, disability, age, sexual orientation, and identity.
As an institute with a prominent statutory research mandate and access to valuable labour market and occupational research data, the IAB ensures that it is perceived at all times as a reliable partner of science, politics, and practice. The IAB ensures that the data entrusted to it are handled and made available to researchers in Germany and abroad in accordance with data protection regulations.
