The IAB acts in a responsible and dependable manner in its dealings with employees, external partners and other departments of the Federal Employment Agency. The public money entrusted to the IAB is used effectively and economically.
The IAB has three core areas of business: conducting research, producing data and advising policymakers. The resources needed for this are provided by internal services and information infrastructure in the following areas: HR, finance, infrastructure, specialist information, library, events, and accounting and reporting. The institute ensures that regulations relating to budgets, personnel and data protection are implemented, and that its performance and results are transparently reported.
The IAB advises, supports and develops its most valuable resource, its employees. It does this by offering modern, flexible working conditions, family-friendly services, and a wide range of development and career paths. As a signatory of the Diversity Charter, the IAB has set itself ambitious equality targets and promotes openness, trust and respect, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation or identity.
As an institute with a prominent statutory research mandate and access to valuable labour market and employment research data, the IAB aims to be a reliable partner for the research community, policymakers and front-line services. The IAB also ensures that the data entrusted to it is processed and made available to researchers in Germany and abroad in accordance with data protection regulations.
