Abstract

The Citizen's Benefit Act (Bürgergeld-Gesetz) came into force at the beginning of 2023, although large parts of the legal changes only became effective on 1 July of the current year. With this law, the federal government aims at a "fundamental further development" of the basic income support for jobseekers. The Citizen's Income Act and its numerous legal amendments are being evaluated by the Institute for Employment Research.
