Professional background

Dr. Silvia Schwanhäuser first studied Sociology (B.A.) from 2011 to 2015 and afterwards successfully completed a Master’s degree in Survey Statistics (M.Sc.) at the University of Bamberg from 2015 to 2018. In 2024, she completed her PhD in social sciences (Dr. rer. soc.) in sociology at the University of Mannheim.

Between 2018 and 2022, she worked as a researcher at the IAB’s Statistical Methods Department (Kompetenzzentrum Empirische Methoden, KEM). Additionally, she was part of the Graduate Programme (GradAB). Since April 2022, she has been working as a researcher at the “Migration and International Labour Studies” (INTER) research department at the IAB. 

Her research focusses on data quality, interviewer effects and survey methodology.
