Abstract

In 2015 and 2016 about 384,000 girls and women submitted a request for asylum in Germany. Thereby every third request was from a female applicant. However, research and politics does usually seldom focus on them. The project aims to monitor women’s participation in education and employment in the country of origin, during the escape as well as in Germany. We compare educational and working experiences of female with those of male refugees. Thereby, we want to give political advice how to increase participation of female refugees in education and employment.
