Abstract

The project analyses the consultation and labour exchange, when asylum seekers are in contact with the public employment service. The project describes the situation of asylum seekers in the organisations of the public employment service (so called labour agencies and jobcentres). It shows measures and programmes that aim at supporting asylum seekers' labour market integration and it looks at structures and interaction processes of labour exchange. The focus is put on the interface between careers advisory services, recruitment services for employers and employment services for jobseekers. Furthermore, it pays attention to the interface between labour agencies and jobcentres. When asylum is given to a refugee, he or she leaves the jurisdiction of the Social Code Book III (labour agencies) and enters the jurisdiction of the Social Code Book II (jobcentres).
