How to measure and compare female activity in the European Community
Abstract
"It is a difficult task to compare female activity between countries and to measure its evolution. It will be shown here that, on the one hand, it is necessary to differentiate any type of measuring according to age and, on the other hand, to take into account the number of hours worked per week. It will be demonstrated that female activity generally continued to increase over the periodd under study (1984 to 1991), this was particularly obvious for women aged 30 to under 50, with a significant degree of convergence+n between countries."
