Functions at the IAB
Professional background
Marcel Müller studied Sociology and Economics (B. A.) at the University of Mainz from 2018 to 2021. Afterwards he studied Socioeconomics (M. Sc.) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg until 2023.
Since December 2023, he has been working as a research associate in the research department “Panel Labour Market and Social Security” at the IAB. Since January 2025, he has been working as a project associate in the project "High Frequency Person Panel: Development Study" (IAB-OPAL – “Online Panel for Labour Market Research”).
His responsibilities include the design of the “Labour Market and Social Security” panel as well as the “Online Panel For Labour Market Research”. He is also responsible for quality assurance and the development of the survey instrument for the "Quality of Life and Social Security" study and the "Work and Life in Germany" online survey. In addition, as part of the field preparation team, he is also involved in the further development of the survey design, optimising response rates and liaising with the contracted survey institute as well as project partners.
