Dr Benjamin Lochner

Professional background
Dr. Benjamin Lochner studied economics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). He received PhD scholarships from the Dieter and Erika Schumburg-Foundation and the joint graduate program of the FAU and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). His dissertation was awarded by the Hermann Gutmann Foundation. He had research visits at the University of Aarhus, the University of Hong Kong, and Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Currently, he is a senior researcher in the research department forecasts and macroeconomic analysis at the IAB. In addition, he is a post-doctoral researcher at the Chair of Macroeconomics at the FAU, an IZA research fellow, a fellow of the Labor and Socio-Economic Research Center (LASER), and a fellow of the Schöller Research Center for Business and Society. His research interests cover the fields of labor economics, macroeconomics, and labor-finance.
