Sexual Harassment at the Workplace
Project duration: 01.09.2023 to 31.12.2028
Abstract
This paper investigates the prevalence and economic repercussions of sexual harassment in the workplace, incorporating dual perspectives from both managers and employees within the same firm. Using the LPP survey, we assess the incidence of harassment, its financial and productivity-related impacts, and the effectiveness of various countermeasures from their respective viewpoints. This unique approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics involved in combatting workplace harassment. Additionally, we employ a discrete choice experiment using OPAL to evaluate how different manager characteristics influence employees' decisions regarding preventive strategies. By analysing the interplay of organizational policies and individual responses to harassment, our findings contribute to a deeper understanding of sexual harassment at the workplace.
