Every year, the European Academy of Sociology (EAS) presents the Raymond Boudon Award for Early Achievement. The accolade, which is reserved for those at the beginning of their academic career, recognises outstanding achievements in the field of sociology research. The winner of this year’s award is Yuliya Kosyakova, head of Migration, Integration and International Labour Market Research at Germany’s Institute for Employment Research (IAB) and Professor of Migration Research at the University of Bamberg.
“Research is my passion,” Yuliya once said in an interview with online magazine IAB-Forum. And that’s clear to see from her output. She has demonstrated her expertise in leading journals such as the European Sociological Review, the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and the International Migration Review. She is also a board member and treasurer and secretary of the Social Stratification Research Committee of the International Sociological Association.
Yuliya Kosyakova will be given the opportunity to talk about herself and her research at next year’s award ceremony, held during the EAS’s annual conference.
“This award is a wonderful recognition of the outstanding research carried out by Yuliya Kosyakova. We are proud and honoured to have her here at the IAB,” says Director of the IAB, Professor Bernd Fitzenberger.
A profile of the IAB researcher can be found in the IAB-Forum.
