Abstract

"'Work' is in the centre of attention not only in the social sciences: in view of the wide-reaching changes in the labour market and the transformation of the welfare state, literature, the theatre, films and the graphic arts have (re-)discovered the world of work as a subject. This collection brings together transdisciplinary analyses of contemporary and historical (re-)presentations of work in science and art as well as interviews with artists and creative artists."
