A stable labour market despite economic weakness
Abstract
"41,943,000 persons in work - that is the peak of employment that the Federal Statistical Office announced for the fourth quarter of 2012. Also, in relation to the year as a whole, the figure of 41.6 million persons in employment at home was a shining record in the history of the German Federal Republic. But, as is well known, not all that glistens is really gold. Is the employment record as good as it appears? What structures and factors does it rest on? What negative implications does it have?"
