Abstract

"The federal state of Bavaria has been ranking very high in labour market statistics for a long time; it is always ranked first or among the first in Germany. Still, there remain labour-related political questions that are highly relevant for a report on poverty and wealth. This chapter presents such topics, which are in great part derived from the overall development and current situation of the German labour market. In part, however, they also reflect state-specific characteristics. The first section of this chapter gives a short overview of various central trends of employment and unemployment. From these basic trends, many of the problems addressed in the following chapters are derived." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku)
