The research work of IAB is mainly orientated to academic and professional circles as well as to political decision-makers such as the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales). Based on our media concept, a wide range of print and online media are available to accommodate the interests, reading and user habits of the various target groups.
An overview of IAB Publications
IAB-Bibliothek (IAB Library)
The IAB Library (IAB-Bibliothek) series presents central scientific findings from the research undertaken at the IAB for a wider circle of professionals within the public sphere. This includes comprehensive reports of studies, research monographs and selected dissertations.
IAB-Discussion Paper
The IAB-Discussion Paper series is addressed to all those who are interested in the international scientific dialogue on methods, theories and empirical aspects and who wish to inform themselves about the latest status of research as well as developments and trends.
IAB-Forschungsbericht (IAB Research Report)
The IAB Research Report (IAB-Forschungsbericht) series publishes larger-scale empirical analyses and project reports, often with heavily data-related and method-related content.
IAB-Forum
The IAB-Forum online magazine continues to be synonymous with scientifically sound articles of assured quality that have been edited diligently and reflect the IAB's full range of research activities – in language that is easy to understand also for practitioners.
IAB-Kurzbericht (IAB Brief Report)
IAB Brief Reports (IAB-Kurzberichte) contain current information on a topic selected from the institute’s research work, often presenting this information in a graphic way. The series is primarily directed at the professional public.
IAB-Politikbrief
The IAB-Politikbrief informs concisely on current topics from labour market and employment research.
IAB-Regional (IAB regional)
In IAB-Regional, the IAB's regional research network reports on the results of its work. This is mainly a question of analysis of the regional differences in the development of the economy and the labour market. The series is mainly addressed to the professional public.
IAB-Stellungnahme (IAB comments)
By publishing selected comments on the public hearings of parliamentary committees of the Federal Government and the Federal States and on current central topics of labour market policy, the IAB wishes to provide academic and professional circles with an insight into its scientific policy advisory services. The comments appear in loose succession and are only published on the Internet. They can be downloaded free of charge.
Journal for Labour Market Research
With its empirical and multidisciplinary orientation, the refereed open-access journal provides a top-class discussion forum for national and international labour market research.
Publication series of the Research Data Centre
The Research Data Centre (Forschungsdatenzentrum, FDZ) of the Federal Employment Agency at the Institute for Employment Research publishes two online publications of its own. The FDZ Data Report (FDZ-Datenreport) series describes the data offered by the FDZ, and the FDZ Method Report (FDZ-Methodenreport) series describes the methodological aspects of these data.
