Abstract

In recent years, the German labor market experienced a substantial increase in post-retirement employment rates among older employees. This overall trend shall be supported by institutional reforms and measures that aim at fostering old-age employment and improving flexibilty of retirement transitions. In this project, we study the determinants of this phenomenon, such as institutional determinants, employer-specific factors related to labor demand as well as individual determinants, such as individuals' employment biographies, their motivation, health, qualification amongst others .
