Abstract
The project takes a look at the employment trajectories of first-time trainees from the 2000 and 2010 training years in Saxony. With the help of sequence pattern analysis, cluster analysis and survival analysis, typical progression and mobility patterns are identified and described. Mobility is viewed at a professional, operational and geographical level First-time trainees in the 2010 cohort have better chances of a stable employment career than those in the 2000 cohort. Individual characteristics such as gender, age, nationality and the chosen profession, but also characteristics of the training company and the training region influence the employment progression and mobility in the countries under consideration ten years after the start of training significantly.
