Abstract

This project analyses the transition of individuals receiving means-tested benefits into employment. Specifically, it aims to assess whether the presence of occupational work experience is related to the occupation in which individuals find employment. Two further outcomes are of interest. First, we aim to assess whether a match between past work experience and the new occupation is associated with a more stable and/or better remunerated employment spell. Second, we will analyse whether the relationship between past work experience and the new employment varies with the person's level of qualification.
