Abstract

Intermediate products are important for the productivity of establishments. The Covid-19 crisis and subsequently the war in Ukraine have worsened already existing supply chain bottlenecks and have created new ones. These developments have had negative effects on German establishments, which have adjusted not only their production but also undertaken personnel measures. For this project we use data from the IAB establishment survey „Betriebe in der Covid-19-Krise,“ which was started in August 2020 and has been in the field approximately every third week. The survey is representative for establishments in Germany, which employ at least one person subject to social insurance. Establishments in the public services, private households and extraterritorial organizations are not included.
