Abstract

The measurement of hours worked (AZR) of the Institute for Employment Research (Institut
für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung – IAB) is a complex calculation concept based on
components, which projects the scope and development of the macroeconomic volume of
work in detail. The results are among others also included in national accounts (NAS).
Therefore, the AZR must be converted to the new classification of economic activities of the
European Union (NACE Revision 2).
