Abstract

On the basis of the German Job Vacancy Survey it is examined how kindergartens / nursery schools were affected by a lack of professionals in the years 2013 and 2014. A strict definition of professional forces is applied in the analysis. Representative data on search and job filling processes are used, including for instance information about hiring durations, hiring difficulties and their reasons and the need to compromise.
