Project duration: 01.02.2011 to 31.12.2017
Abstract
Elderly and low-skilled workers are a group of people facing particular unemployment risks in the labor market. Targeted further training can lower these risks. However, elderly and low-skilled workers usually don’t see the necessity to educate themselves. In addition, there are only few employers that offer targeted further training for these two groups. WeGebAU, a special program by the Federal Employment Agency, provides financial support for on-the-job training since 2006 aiming at enhancing the human capital of elderly and low-skilled workers. The intended research project means to provide first results about the support effects of people that entered the program in 2007 or 2008 on outcomes like employment stability and wage. The results offer the possibility to re-evaluate the financial support by the Federal Employment Agency.
