Linkage between Registered Vacancies in the FEA Job Board and Hires in the IAB Job Vacancy Survey

Abstract
In the project, we create a record linkage which links the information on the recruitment process of the IAB Job Vacancy Survey with registered vacancies in the Online Job Board of the Federal Employment Agency (FEA). Given the search start and the job title, we design an algorithm that matches the information on the "case of the last new hire" of an establishment in the IAB Job Vacancy Survey as unambiguously as possible to the corresponding registered vacancy in the FEA Job Board. The combined vacancy-hire dataset enables a number of new research projects on firms’ recruitment behavior because it simultaneously contains information on the vacancy, the job filling process, and characteristics of the filled position. Prospectively, we also plan to link registered vacancies with the Employment History (BeH).
