Abstract

The project develops an embedding-based method for the analysis of occupational texts to sytematically quantify expertise requirements, specialization and generalization tendencies as well as structural relationships and dynamics across occupations. It builds on language-model based text representations derived from occupational descriptions from online job advertisements and the knowledge database "Berufenet". Comparing these sources enables an empirical assessment of differences between practical and formal occupational task content.
