Abstract

The aim of this project is to assess the value of public transport infractructure. To this end, we make use of the unexpected closure of the Rahmedetalbrücke which led to a sizeable increae in travel time and transport costs for establishments located in the affected regions. Based on a difference-in-differences approach, we intend to estimate the effects of an exogenous shock to travel time/transport cost on different establishment-level and regional outcomes.
