Würzburg in neighbouring Lower Franconia was the destination of the GradAB closed meeting on 5 and 6 June 2019. 14 doctoral students from three cohorts took advantage of the conference to discuss their research. The annual closed meeting thus complements the monthly GradAB colloquia, which also serve the exchange on research topics and methodological issues within the group. The Ph.D.-students presented and discussed initial research ideas as well as further developed projects in an open and inspiring atmosphere. Together with the study coordinator Sandra Huber, the group developed ideas for the elective courses offered within the framework of the GradAB and for a more intensive exchange with GradAB alumni about career paths after the doctorate. For personal conversations and fun in the group, a wine tasting event at a modern vineyard in the nearby village Retzbach and a city tour through Würzburg on the second day offered a lot of opportunity.
