The European Labor Market Barometer rose compared to the previous month by 0.2 points to 100.4 points in July. Both components of the labor market leading indicator of the European Network of Public Employment Services and the IAB increased modestly. “The European employment services have become a little more optimistic again,” says Enzo Weber, IAB head of forecast. The employment component rose by 0.3 points to 101.6 points in July and thus remains moderately positive. The unemployment forecast component also increased slightly by 0.2 points to 99.2 points. Unemployment will therefore continue to rise slightly in the coming months.
