Professional background
Dr Kerstin Ostermann studied at Georg August University in Göttingen, the National University of Ireland in Galway, and Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg.
After completing her PhD at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), she has been working at the RegioHub of the Leibniz Science Campus at Bielefeld University since 2026. Since February 2026, she has also been employed in the International Labor Markets department at the IAB.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of labor market, neighborhood, and education research, with a particular focus on quantitative methods and the use of geodata.
