The early indicator of the European Network of Public Employment Services and the IAB thus remains slightly above the neutral value of 100 points. The employment component recorded a decrease of 0.2 points compared to the previous month, but remained in the slightly positive range at 100.3 points. The unemployment forecasting component continues to approach the stability mark, rising by 0.2 points to 99.9 points. “Europe’s labour markets have no clear direction. Recovery factors and setbacks such as the oil price shock are offsetting,” said Enzo Weber, IAB head of forecast.
