After rising by 0.3 points, the leading indicator of the European Network of Public Employment Services and the IAB has reached the neutral mark of 100 points in September. The component forecasting unemployment rose by 0.6 points compared to the previous month, but remains slightly pessimistic at 99.8 points. The employment component, on the other hand, is stabilising in the slightly positive range and rose minimally by 0.1 points to 100.2 points. "A European labour market upturn is not to be expected, but at least the outlook is now more stable," explains Enzo Weber, IAB head of forecast
