The European Labour Market Barometer has fallen for the seventh time in succession. Having recorded a month-on-month fall of 0.2 points in October, it fell by the same amount again in November to stand at 99.0 points. “The economic downturn continues to take its toll on the European labour markets,” comments IAB head of forecast Enzo Weber. The component that predicts unemployment decreased by 0.1 points to 97.4 points, thereby remaining firmly in negative territory. The component that predicts employment stood at 100.7 points, which was down by 0.2 points compared with October. Despite this further fall, employment prospects remain just in positive territory.
