The European Labour Market Barometer shows a rise for the third time in a row and gains 1.0 point compared to the month before. Therefore, at 101.8 points, the labour market leading indicator of the European Network of Public Employment Services and the IAB lies significantly above the neutral mark of 100 points once again. “The European labour markets are recovering from the energy crisis,” says Weber. In all of the Eastern European countries the barometer has rallied in March, in some of them significantly. The European Labour Market Barometer’s employment component gains 1.0 point, now standing at 103.1 points. This signals solid employment growth. The barometer’s unemployment component is back in the positive range again for the first time since summer 2022, climbing by 0.9 points to 100.5 points and indicating a stable to slightly declining unemployment rate in March.
