Conferences and Workshops

On its own or together with other institutions the IAB organizes numerous meetings for the scientific community and for professionals in the public sphere, especially for the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).

Labor Markets and Financial Markets

IAB-FU-RWI Workshop

We invite paper submissions on the interplay between labor markets and financial markets. The workshop aims to bring together researchers working at the intersection of labor economics, financial economics, and macroeconomics. We are especially interested in how financial conditions, monetary policy, technological change, and structural transformations shape firms' employment and wage decisions, worker careers, and aggregate labor-market outcomes.

We welcome theoretical, empirical, and quantitative contributions. The workshop will bring together senior researchers with young economists. Submissions from advanced PhD students and post-docs are particularly encouraged.

We welcome submissions addressing issues including (but not limited to):

  • Firm financing and labor outcomes
  • Macroeconomic transmission to the labor market
  • Risk sharing between firms and workers
  • Financing of human capital, skills, and job reallocation
  • Technology, automation, and AI
  • Climate change and the green transition
  • Labor-market institutions and stabilization policies in the presence of financial frictions
  • Firms, workers, and inequality
