Paradata
Abstract
"As part of all surveys (Reinecke, Chapter 49 in this volume), also data from the survey process are collected besides the actual survey data. In case of computer-aided surveys, these include, e.g., timestamps for entering answers which can be used to measure the time needed to answer a question, or automatically recorded mouse movements in a web survey. In a lecture at the Joint Statistical Meeting of the American Statistical Association in 1998 in Dallas, Mick Couper coined the phrase 'para data' for this kind of data (Couper 1998)."
