Abstract

"On January 1st 2015 the general statutory minimum wage of 8.50 Euro per hour was introduced in Germany. Previous research carried out by the IAB has shown that there were effects on marginal employment, in particular. This report analyses employment dynamics at the establishment level when the minimum wage was introduced. It shows how establishments have adapted to the new situation in the short term and how the structure of employment has changed after the minimum wage introduction."
