Occupation-based German-language training and further vocational training of the unemployed with a migration background : an impact analysis
Abstract
"With the support of the European Social Fund, the German Federal Employment Agency subsidized occupation-based German-language training courses from 2004 to 2008 for those out of work and with a migration background. The relatively low employment integration rates after participation in the courses shows that this kind of support is often not sufficient, especially for those with low skills. An impact analysis of the further vocational training of unemployed migrants in connection with an occupation-based German-language course verified that labour market chances can be considerably improved with this combination of measures, but also through further training on its own."
